Key objectives of the review include:
- Exploring opportunities for additional commercial development and tourist accommodation.
- Evaluating traffic flow and pedestrian accessibility along Gilbert Street.
- Proposing effective traffic management solutions to enhance safety and convenience.
- Addressing the town's parking situation and developing feasible solutions for future car parking, while improving urban amenities.
- Review public spaces like Station Square and Kings Park for potential improvements and better connectivity to the coastal pathway along River Road and the Wild Mersey Mountain Bike Trailhead at the Warrawee Conservation Area.
“This project is a significant step toward shaping the future growth and development of the central business district and ensuring that it continues to meet the needs and expectations of the Latrobe community.
