Project Update - June 2022:

Removing Rice Grass from Rubicon Estuary Project Update

Follow-up treatment at Narawntapu National Park, North-East Arm and Browns Creek on the eastern side of the estuary and Squeaking Point on the western side of the estuary has been completed. Partial follow-up treatment at Port Sorell and Panatana Rivulet has occurred on the western side of the estuary. This is a total of ~400 hectares.

Initial treatment has occurred from North-East arm down to Eagle Point, as well as at Squeaking Point. This is a total of ~115 hectares. The areas coloured brown represents follow-up treatment areas and those coloured green represent initial treatment areas. All areas north of the containment line (red) have now received at least one treatment.

Spraying has stopped for the Easter break, with a small amount of follow-up treatment to be completed in Panatana Rivulet and the Port Sorell area. Spraying for this season will be completed by the end of April.
