A path of engraved bricks at the memorial will represent Tasmanians and all Australians who have served is on display at the War Memorial in Port Sorell.

This pathway is also open to those not involved with the Defence Forces and can used to represent family members and pioneers of Australia and in particular Tasmania.

To dedicate an engraved brick with the names it is a cost of $50 and can be paid in person at Latrobe Council Office. The Application Form can be found here.

“Australians have been involved in wars and conflicts since the New Zealand Maori wars of 1860-61 and still have troops deployed around the world in peace keeping actions. It is part of the RSL charter that we ensure that this country never forgets the sacrifices that were made by previous and present generations in times of war. These young men and women went off to fight in foreign lands, and many rest there today, to ensure that we continue to live in a free and just society and in the manner we are accustomed. I would also like to extend this invitation to everyone including those who are not involved with the Defence Forces. The pathway to the memorial is for everyone and we welcome anyone that would like to dedicate a brick. If you have a loved one that you would like remembered as a part of this pathway please contact council” Rodney Bramich OAM
