Rates

Property rates are Council's principle revenue source. Valuations provided by the Valuer-General are used to calculate the rates on each property.

Collection of Council's rates is essential to the funding of services and capital works. To encourage this, Council offers a 1.5% discount on current rates where rates are paid in full by the first instalment due date.

You may choose to pay your rates in full on or before the first instalment date, or by four instalments.

  • Instalment 1 - 31st August 2019
  • Instalment 2 - 31st October 2019
  • Instalment 3 - 31st January 2020
  • Instalment 4 - 31st March 2020

Any ratepayers who are experiencing genuine difficulties in meeting these dates can apply for alternative payment arrangements by contacting Council's Rates Officer or completing and submitting the following form Application for Rates Arrangement(261 kb).

To cater for residents who are away over winter or for those who prefer a paperless society, Council is able to email your rates notice and instalment reminders electronically. This is however an opt in service.

Should you wish to receive your rates notice electronically, please complete the following form and return to Council Request to Email Rates Notice(24 kb).  Your details will not be provided to any third party.
