The wire mesh is secured to the top and side round bars using PVC-coated wire, which is made of the same material as the wire mesh. However, due to a delay in the procurement of the remaining tie material, zip ties have been temporarily installed to secure the wire mesh to the bottom round bar. Please be assured that it is a temporary measure and is currently being replaced with PVC coated tie wire.
Our contractor is committed to completing these remaining works by Wednesday, 9th September (weather permitting). The footbridge has remained fully open to the public since mid-July, and the intention is to keep it open while undertaking the remaining works.
