The Hon. Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of Australia, visited Latrobe today to visit the newly opened Lady Gowrie childcare centre.
The Prime Minister was joined by Anne Urquhart MP and Susie Jones from Lady Gowrie, acknowledging the significance of quality early childhood education and care for families in our community.
It was particularly pleasing to hear the Prime Minister recognise Latrobe Council’s role in supporting and stabilising childcare services in Latrobe during a critical period. Council’s involvement assisted in securing the continuation of services for local families and enabled the transformation of a Latrobe site to ensure care could continue while Lady Gowrie's new, purpose-built centre is under construction.
Access to reliable, high-quality childcare is essential for working families and for the long-term wellbeing of our community. We thank all partners involved for their collaboration and commitment to delivering positive outcomes for Latrobe families.
