Among the most anticipated attractions is the Chocolate Wonders of Wearable Art exhibition, where entrants transform everyday materials into spectacular chocolate-inspired costumes. More than $1,700 in prizes will be awarded, with both Judges' Choice and People's Choice awards on offer.

Visitors can also enjoy the Chocolate Poetry Competition, hear original entries in the Chocolate Song Competition, explore chocolate-themed artwork at the Latrobe Arts Hub and witness creative demonstrations throughout the day.

Latrobe Council Mayor Peter Freshney said the festival's creative elements were what made Chocolate Winterfest unique.

"While chocolate is naturally the hero of the festival, the event has evolved into a celebration of creativity and community participation. The imagination and effort that participants put into these competitions is remarkable and has become one of the festival's defining features."

Festival organisers encourage visitors to vote for their favourite wearable art creation and support local artists, performers and creators throughout the day. Photo of a past entry - Aero Bubbling Fantasy by Stephanie Gower pictured.
