In conjunction with my exhibition of artworks with “An Oriental Influence” showing at the Crowded Lounge in Latrobe in April 2024, I will be running a brush painting workshop at that venue. This short session will give you an introduction to the principles and philosophies behind Sumi e and challenge your thinking about what an artist should aim for when creating art.
$40 per person.
We will use soft (primarily natural hair) brushes with water, ink and watercolour to make fluid, expressive marks. This way of painting is meditative and suitable for all abilities from absolute beginner to skilled professional. So come and relax, and let the bush lead the way.
NOTE this will run at the Crowded Lounge and Fine Coffee Gallery and Cafe in Gilbert St Latrobe, Tasmania (NOT at my home studio this time)
