Christmas Carnival Keeps to 28th

The annual Latrobe Carnival at the Latrobe Recreation Ground continues its now adopted date of 28 December in lieu of the formerly traditional Boxing Day. This change was implemented last year in an attempt to grow patronage to this day of wood chopping, athletics and cycling competition as part of the Sports Carnival Association of Tasmania Series. Gates open at 11.00 am with activities continuing through to 9.00 pm.

Drivers Sought

Port Sorell Meals on Wheels are seeking volunteer drivers to deliver meals once a month. Volunteers would be required to pick up meals from Strathdevon, Latrobe then deliver them to up to 12 clients throughout the Port Sorell area. If you are interested in volunteering with Port Sorell Meals on Wheels, please contact either Carl (6428 1679) or Max (6428 7275).

“You know that Christmas is nearing when the Latrobe Federal Band comes carolling” said Ms Sheree Parker as she, Mr Shane Thurston and children Jasmine, Amy and Shae watched the Latrobe Federal Band perform the children’s requested favourite carol, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.

Rotary Wedding Expo

Councillors Dayna Dennison and Lesley Young are coordinating this year's Carols in Kings Park, to be held from 7.15 pm on Saturday, 20 December. Rather than the concert style presentation in recent years, they are seeking to revert to the old fashioned sing-along and are asking for your input as to what your favourite Christmas Carol is to sing along to. Please vote in our Poll for your favourite Christmas Carol
