Council Minutes

The Local Government Act 1993 (Schedule 4 Paragraph 13) requires a Council's General Manager to record the minutes for every Council meeting.

The Act (Schedule 4 Paragraph 13 Sub-paragraph (2)) allows the General Manager to only record in the minutes that a matter was discussed in "closed" session and to not record details of the matter unless Council determines otherwise.

As soon as practicable but at least at the next ordinary meeting, minutes are to be circulated to all councillors and are to be confirmed as a true record at the next ordinary meeting by motion of a council or council committee.
